Number of Sessions Per Week: 3 x 50 minute sessions

Homework: Once per week

Students receive three lessons per week of Religious Studies in Year 7 and Year 8 on a mixed ability form basis. All students follow the Salford Diocesan Syllabus. This consists of several programmes of Study over the three years. The programme plus the lesson contents are given to each student to allow them to follow the syllabus and develop their faith as Catholics. Topics covered include Creation, Stewardship and Prayer.

The students’ level throughout the year will be assessed on classwork, homework, oral contribution, an assessment task and an end of Programme of Study test. At the end of the year, there is a formal examination. A variety of teaching and learning styles are used.

Students are asked to bring to class, their exercise book used for classwork and homework, pens, pencil, ruler and coloured pencils. Bibles are provided in school for class use though it is advantageous if there is a Bible available at home.
