Homework: Twice per week

 

In Year 10 and Year 11, all pupils following the EDEXCEL GCSE Religious Studies Specification A. This consists of two units, Unit 3 which is studied during Year 10 and Unit 8 which is studied during Year 11. Assessment takes the form of two 90 minute examinations, both at the end of Year 11. Students are assessed on Knowledge, Understanding and Evaluation of topics studied.

Matters of Life and Death

Marriage and the Family

Community Cohesion

 

 

Unit 8: Religion and Society based on a study of Christianity and one other Religion

Religion: Peace and Conflict

Religion: Crime and Punishment

100% Examination.

 

GCSE Religious Studies lays down the foundations for life. Religious Studies GCSE leads to many A levels, including Religion, Philosophy + Religion, Philosophy, Sociology, Ethics + Theology.

 

Religious Studies forms the basis of many vocational courses in the caring services and many moral issues raised in GCSE Religious Studies are relevant and applicable to many aspects of our lives as citizens in the community.
