The Department of ALN at St Joseph’s has several additional support steps in place to enrich the education and experience for our students. Some of the provision we have in place to support our students include:
Haven Club and PULSE;

- Maths Club and Maths booster sessions;
- Chess Club;
- Keyboard skills;
- Social skills groups;
- Additional Literacy support on a 1:1 basis and group workshops
- Unstructured time support;
- Access Arrangement support;
- Access to homework support;
- JK Nurture Centre;
- Regular update meeting;
- Toe by Toe intervention;
- FOCUS Literacy support;
- Daily reading intervention;
- Handwriting packs for use at home;
- Reward activities;
- Personalised timetables;
- Further personalised learning for specific students.
We are looking to establish a Craft Club and Paired Reading Club in the near future as well.
