Here at St. Joseph’s, our school improvement plan is produced to help us pursue our aim of providing our students with a compass for life and our mission of being an outstanding Roman Catholic school for the 21st century. In 2021-22 instead of counting our losses from the recent lockdowns we will be focusing on what we have found. Inspired by the musical number ‘You will be found’ from Dear Evan Hansen and Jeremiah 29:12-13 “‘I will be found by you’ says the Lord ‘when you seek me with all your heart’” we will be making sure that this is a year where no-one is lost and where we all find a new and better way of doing things.
Improvement plans need to be specific and challenging and they need to address changes in the world around us or perceived weaknesses in our provision (remembering that no school is yet perfect). They include specific action points which have already been agreed, but at the other end of the scale they also include matters for further research and investigation.
You will see in our Improvement Plan the key priorities we have identified for the 2021-22 year. This plan is designed to provide a strategic overview of the direction for school improvement. Our Rapid Action Plan will be the working document used to focus staff on the specific actions in response to ongoing assessment to bring about change to improve the progress of learners and monitor and drive the improvements needed using the next steps indicated in the last Ofsted report. These plans are being monitored by our Governing Body. In the full plan we have the detail of ‘the how, the when and the who.’
