Many students use our school library and learning centre throughout the year – for reading, library lessons, electronic work and for working together with others… and this is supported by a team of staff and volunteer students who assist in the day-to-day running of the library. The role of Librarian is a very serious role – a volunteering opportunity that, not only helps you to gain valuable knowledge and skills, but that will enhance your CV and show that you are dedicated to helping others and giving up your time for the benefit of the community.
Tasks you may complete include tidying shelves and furniture, loaning books through our management system, creating and maintaining displays and stands as well as welcoming others and helping them with ICT.
You will be able to record the hours you voluntary work in the library and as soon as you are in Year 10, you will be able to record these hours on our vInspired site, and receive nationally recognised certificates for your volunteering.
The society is open to students in Year 8, 9 and 10.
