In Year 10 pupils are offered the opportunity to complete the Bronze Award which starts in the October of Year 10 and should be completed by the following June after the Expedition section.

The Award involves 4 sections.

Volunteering

Physical

Skills

Expedition

The practice and the actual assessment expedition, are both are over 2 days and involve 1 night camping.

The pupils are guided through the process but a lot of emphasis is placed on the pupils to take responsibility and arrange each of their own activities to gain the Award.  The expedition section is closely supervised and the necessary training is given.  Equipment is provided if needed.

Why get involved?

The DofE is all about going the extra mile – gaining new skills, pushing yourself physically, helping others and exploring new territories. At the same time, you’ll gather friendships, experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.
