The Department of Design and Technology is made up of a dedicated team of staff who are highly committed to their subject area. Qualifications are offered up to GCSE Level in Food Preparation and Nutrition and Design and Technology, this has two strands to it, one has a focus on timbers, and the other has a focus on textiles. In addition to this we offer a BTEC qualification in Health and Social Care. The department has fully embraced the mission statement of the school by providing a curriculum and learning environment that ensures every student fulfils their potential.

We have a Head of Department for Design and Technology who is supported by a team of 3 Teaching Staff. Their work is complemented by a Design and Technology Technician who supports all staff and helps prepare for practical lessons. The faculty is based in the Yates ROSLA Building.
